This is the title of a 1970′s song from Mel and Tim…the only hit they ever recorded. It is about a love lost and starting again. My post today is about rebuilding our lives after a different type of dissolution…
As a mid-life man who has survived the worst economic collapse since the Great Depression, I am encountering more and more people of my age group facing similar rebuilding challenges. At this age, we have to consider going back into a job market that prefers younger, less-experienced, and less costly employees.
Too many of us have little to no retirement in place as we face this next chapter of our lives. We have worked for almost 40 years, some for one employer, others of us have worked for numerous, and now have to face a future that is not prepared for us.
I made a decision in 2011 to begin another home-based business sharing the services provided through Legal Shield. The ability to talk with an attorney without incurring the high hourly cost made sense to me. I also had need of preparing my estate planning documents, in order to negate a probate court battle for my heirs upon my death, and that is available for free with the Legal Shield membership.
What it also is allowing me to do is create a passive income stream from the efforts of team members who are using this as their vehicle to rebuild their lives. Like a smart insurance or real estate broker, I can create a team of business partners and earn overrides on their business success. They earn solid commissions and everyone wins.
I came across this article and want to share it with you…especially how it is such a challenge to face having to accept a wage that is 40-50% less than one is accustomed to making on a job. Two such people are featured here…
